*is a happy little nerdling*

EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL WINS 2007 AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD FOR TORONTO’S
FAVORITE SHOW

We won!

Yes, Toronto theatre-goers have spoken and voted EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL as their favorite show in the city!

Evil Dead won the 2007 Dora Audience Choice Award in a ceremony on Monday night. And even more impressively we won the vote by an overwhelming majority.

And if you didn’t already know, we’ve also extended the show another 6 weeks until August 4th – so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to JOIN US and help us celebrate our big win.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, this award should finally convince you to
come and see it. If you have seen the show, this news should just make you
want to see it again. And if you have friends who haven’t seen the show –
pass on the news and get them to come as well (if they don’t go to Evil
Dead…. are they really your friends?)

GROUP DEAL - If you want a bring a whole pile of your friends to the show,
we have an awesome new deal for GROUPS where everyone can buy tickets on different credit cards and still get an awesome discount. It’s almost too
good to be true! For all the details

- call our Group Sales Office today -
416-971-5973 ex 234!

So spread the word and buy your tickets fast. We’ve just extended until
August 4th, but the good tickets won’t last long (we are Toronto’s favourite
show after all). We were sold out every night last week – So buy your
tickets NOW!

And if you still can’t get enough of Evil Dead, be sure to watch for the
cast performing on Breakfast Television this Thursday.

Groovy!

I know there are probably a few people rolling their eyes right now, but it really is rare that a show has that kind of affect on me. No, it's not the most thought-provoking thing on stage I'm sure, but sometimes one just wishes to see something to laugh and enjoy a couple hours - and if you're simply looking for entertainment I can not think of anything that's quite this much fun, despite the lack of Bruce Campbell.

Omigod...

So I was reading Dan Savage's column for this week.

In it he talks about a "reformed" lesbian named Charlene E. Cothran and uses clips from an interview with said person.

And well...
So, what about you now really makes you heterosexual?

Charlene: Nothing... My prayer was not fix me, repair me, and make me straight—that was not my prayer. My prayer was God make me whole in every sense of the word....

Are you saying that you are not heterosexual?

Charlene: I am saying that I am celibate right now. I'm not saying there won't ever be a man in my life. You're asking me about where I am and that's all I can speak to. Today I am celibate... But... there is one thing I can say and one thing I will go on record and say—I will never be entangled with the bondage of lesbianism again....

Are you physically attracted to men?

Charlene: [pauses] I am physically attracted to the spirit of Christ right now....

Are you still attracted to women or is that attraction completely gone?

Charlene: I would say after 29 years of walking in the sin of lesbianism that if the devil were going to try and tempt me that he's probably not going to send a football player, if you will, because that didn't do it for me. You follow me?

I don't think I can put it any better then he did;

Yes, Charlene, we follow you. If the devil is going to tempt your ass, he'd better send Halle Berry and not William "Refrigerator" Perry. Because you're not attracted to men. Except Jesus—and you're not even attracted to the hot body (and blood?) of Christ, just to His "spirit."

Just a word of advice

If you have a twisted sense of humor and a really strong stomach and want to have an experience like no other...

catch Grindhouse in theatres. Preferably with a few of your most insane friends.

I'm just sayin'
